On Friday night, my parents and my sister, Lindsay and her boyfriend, Mel flew into town. Becky was not able to come because of some volleyball commitment for her college. We were sad she was not able to attend, but we were just happy we could have Jack baptized in such a short notice. Rocco's sister Jeana drove into town with Julie Widle (Joann's youngest daughter). While Rocco was off picking up everyone from the airport, I stayed home to put Jack to bed and start cooking food for the brunch we held at the house after the baptism.
Saturday morning came so fast! I got up at 7am and got myself all dressed and ready to go before Jack woke up. Once he was up I got him fed and he got to play with his Mimi, Pop Pop, Auntie Lindsay and Uncle Mel while I finished making the fruit salad, put the casserole in the oven and got dressed. Then we got Mr. Jack ready for his baptism. He was in such a good mood all morning so we were keeping our fingers crossed that he stayed that way during the baptism because that is normally his nap time.
We all showed up to the church on time and everyone was ready to go. The Baptism must have taken 20 minutes... tops! Jack did a great job! He babbled the whole time Father Pat was talking, but he didn't cry one time.
After the Baptism everyone came back to our house for brunch and cake. Right after we got home, Jack went right down for his morning nap. He slept for about an hour and then he got up and partied with everyone. He even attempted to open his gifts from his grandparents, Gigi and Joann. It was a great day, but I am very glad that it is over and our sweet boy is finally baptized and is a child of God.
