Jack Misses Mimi & Pop Pop

For the past 2 days this is what mine and Jack's conversations have consisted of.

This morning when I took him out of his crib he asked for Pop Pop and walked to our guest room and then asked for Mimi and started crying because he realized they weren't in "their" room. All I can say is, I think my parents need to start visiting more!

Easter 2012

We spent Easter weekend at the ranch in D'Hanis, Texas. My parents and sister, Lindsay came out to stay with us for the weekend. Jack had a blast being at the ranch. He got to go on numerous golf cart rides and play outside all weekend... What more could a little boy want?
On Saturday, Rocco got to color eggs for the first time! Poor guy never colored an egg before. We went to the Red Ranch (where Rocco's grandfather grew up) and met up with lots of family for an Easter party. The kids picked flowers to make Easter nests and had an egg hunt. It was great to see everyone. On Saturday night Grandpa John, Jeana and Matt came out to the ranch. We BBQed and had a great time hanging out.
On Sunday, Jack woke up to find that the Easter Bunny found him at the ranch. He got 3 baskets full of Thomas the Train stuff, stickers, cars and other goodies. We attempted to take Jack to mass, but he lasted about 10 minutes so Rocco and him spent the remainder of church outside playing. After church Jeana and I made our side dishes (jalepeno corn and broccoli casserole) to take to Rocco's Grandma's house for Easter lunch. It was great spending time with Bette's family, my parents and sister.
Here are a few pictures from our Easter weekend:

14 Months Old

Jack turned 14 months old today! I must say this past month has flown by and my little boy is growing up so fast! He can now say MaMa, DaDa, dog, bird, truck, cheerio, out, and he can woof like a dog. He can point to the red car or blue car on his sippy cups when you ask him to. He can also pick out the pig from his Little People farm animals. So stinkin' cute and smart! He still is not walking, but I think we are definitely getting closer. He is finally cutting his 3rd tooth. It's one of his top front teeth so he has been pulling on his tongue…I guess it feels good!? I'm looking forward to seeing what this month brings us!

Mimi's Birthday

We got to spend the day with Mimi for her birthday! We went to lunch with some of Mimi's friends, Kate & Ms. Kim, to Tuscany Bistro. Then we went to the Kemah Boardwalk. Then we went to Jackie's Brickhouse to celebrate with all of Mimi and Pop Pop's friends. Afterwards, we took Jack home so he could go to bed and then we sang happy birthday and ate the chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter filling and a chocolate ganache that I made. They were delicious!!!

Easter at the Ranch 2011

We took Jack to the Fasano Ranch in D'Hanis, Texas for Easter. On Saturday we went over to the "Red Ranch," for a Easter party. First, we all eat lots if good food and desserts. Then the kids go on a tractor ride to pick flowers and then they build Easter nests. Unfortunately, there are NO flowers due to the lack of rain in Texas. It looked like a desert out there. So they built nest out of grass and twigs! Jack picked a few flowers from Bette's ranch house before we went to the Red Ranch so his nest looked pretty good. While I helped Jack build his nest the Easter Bunny came and hid eggs in the yard. So after all the nests were made all 20 something kids hunted eggs. While the kids were hunting eggs the Easter Bunny filled all the kids nests with all sorts of fun stuff.

On Easter Sunday, Jack got to check out his first Easter badket from the Easter Bunny. He got a new sippy cup, Gerber cheese puffs, and a light up bunny. Then we went to church and to Rocco's Grandma's house for lunch. Jack got to open Easter gifts from his Nana & Grandpa John and he got a Bunny and Easter books from his Great Grandma. We had a great time!

Gus & Goldie Swim Lessons

Jack took his first swimming lessons the first 2 weeks of April. He loved the water! I on the other hand was freezing every night! The water was still a little cold for Mommy. By the end of the 2 weeks Jack was able to go under water. He never cried once… he just laughed when he came back up. Jack's friend Caroline Baer took lessons with us. They even got t-shirts and a certificate at the end. 10 months old and already has his first sporting t-shirt! The first of many, I'm afraid. ;)
