We got to spend the day with Mimi for her birthday! We went to lunch with some of Mimi's friends, Kate & Ms. Kim, to Tuscany Bistro. Then we went to the Kemah Boardwalk. Then we went to Jackie's Brickhouse to celebrate with all of Mimi and Pop Pop's friends. Afterwards, we took Jack home so he could go to bed and then we sang happy birthday and ate the chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter filling and a chocolate ganache that I made. They were delicious!!!
We took Jack to the Fasano Ranch in D'Hanis, Texas for Easter. On Saturday we went over to the "Red Ranch," for a Easter party. First, we all eat lots if good food and desserts. Then the kids go on a tractor ride to pick flowers and then they build Easter nests. Unfortunately, there are NO flowers due to the lack of rain in Texas. It looked like a desert out there. So they built nest out of grass and twigs! Jack picked a few flowers from Bette's ranch house before we went to the Red Ranch so his nest looked pretty good. While I helped Jack build his nest the Easter Bunny came and hid eggs in the yard. So after all the nests were made all 20 something kids hunted eggs. While the kids were hunting eggs the Easter Bunny filled all the kids nests with all sorts of fun stuff.
On Easter Sunday, Jack got to check out his first Easter badket from the Easter Bunny. He got a new sippy cup, Gerber cheese puffs, and a light up bunny. Then we went to church and to Rocco's Grandma's house for lunch. Jack got to open Easter gifts from his Nana & Grandpa John and he got a Bunny and Easter books from his Great Grandma. We had a great time!
Jack took his first swimming lessons the first 2 weeks of April. He loved the water! I on the other hand was freezing every night! The water was still a little cold for Mommy. By the end of the 2 weeks Jack was able to go under water. He never cried once… he just laughed when he came back up. Jack's friend Caroline Baer took lessons with us. They even got t-shirts and a certificate at the end. 10 months old and already has his first sporting t-shirt! The first of many, I'm afraid. ;)
