I've finally attempted cake balls! I've been wanting to try them for a while and my mom was talking about making a carrot cake so I got the brilliant idea to make carrot cake cake balls. I looked up how to make them online and all the recipes were the same and made it sound super easy, which it was, but a little time consuming. Definitely do not make these if you're in a hurry! Here is how you make these delicious little cake balls:
-1 box of cake mix (which ever flavor you want)
-1 16oz container of icing (which you choose to go with your cake flavor)
- chocolate, white chocolate or the confectioners sugar disks in whatever color you want.
1. Bake cake according to package and let cool for 30 min.
2. Break cake up into large pieces and place in a large bowl. Using a mixer break up cake into fine pieces.
3. Add 1/2 or whole container of icing to the cake and mix. I only used 1/2 the container. The more you use the sweeter and more wet your cake balls will be.
4. Using a cookie scoop shape the cake into 1 inch balls and place on waxed paper. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or over night.
5. Melt chocolate or whatever you choose to use. Cover cake balls using a spoon, tooth pick or Easter egg dipper and place back on waxed paper.
6. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
I used a carrot cake cake mix, cream cheese frosting and white chocolate chips to cover them with.
Enjoy!
